2. Disinfection of the farrowing house. The environment in summer is prone to the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Therefore, before the sow enters the farrowing house, the farrowing house should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and used after it is completely dry. The most effective method is to implement the all-in and all-out system of farrowing houses, that is, after a batch of pigs are removed, the pig house is cleaned and disinfected, and then dried to enter the next batch of sows waiting to be born.

3.Cut off other transmission channels. There are also ways for pathogens to enter the farrowing house: breeders are not disinfected before entering the farrowing house; cats, dogs or mice carrying large amounts of pathogens enter and leave the farrowing house; the feces of sows are not removed in time; In summer, we must pay special attention to mosquito bites to spread diseases, and clean up some dead spots that are prone to mosquitoes and flies. To cut off these transmission routes, it is necessary to strictly disinfect the breeders who enter and leave the farrowing house, prevent other animals from entering the farrowing house, and clean the pig house regularly to keep it clean and hygienic; strictly check the feed and prevent the use of moldy feed.

Lactation management 

1.During the lactation period, the total amount of supplementary feeding for each piglet should be 400-700 grams. These immunoglobulins are absorbed into the blood by piglets, which can form effective specific disease resistance in piglets; breast milk contains a large number of fat, sugar and protein, which are easily digested and absorbed by piglets. In order to improve piglets' immune function, it is necessary to improve the quality of piglets In order to promote its healthy development, piglets must eat colostrum within two hours after birth.

3.Temperature requirements. Generally, the most suitable temperature for newborn piglets is 32℃. In the next 4-5 weeks, the temperature should be lowered by 2℃ every week. Heat preservation can use heating lamp or electric heating plate to create a warm small environment.

4.Do a good job of vaccine prevention and supplement iron. After weaning, piglets lose the antibodies provided by breast milk, but their own immunity is not complete. At this time, their resistance to diseases is very weak. Once they are invaded by pathogenic bacteria, they are easy to get sick. We should do a good job in vaccine prevention of local epidemic diseases and supplement iron within 3 days of birth.

Artificial monitoring of sow production 

To prevent the sow crush death of the newborn piglet; to supplement the nutrition water to the sow in time; to help the piglet find the milk head and eat the colostrum in time.

Provide adequate and clean drinking water 

 

Finally, it is important to provide adequate and clean drinking water for piglets in summer. Due to the high temperature in summer, the demand of water for piglets increases, so it is necessary to supplement proper amount of water. In addition, the experimental data showed that, to a certain extent, the feed intake of piglets increased with the increase of drinking water, and the growth rate of piglets was related to the amount of drinking water, and the growth rate of piglets with large amount of drinking water was faster.
